First assignment

Hello everyone:

I hope you had a great holiday break and you have finished reading our
two texts and watched our two films.

Here is what I would like you to do before class starts on Monday.

I am going to be sending you an invitation to join our class blog (it
should follow shortly after this email). Please follow the
instructions and sign into the blog, creating an identity and password
(remember your password).

Then, post two different blog entries.

1. I would like you to think write about BEVERLY HILLS COP with the
mindset of our FRAMING BLACKNESS author. In other words how does the
film deal with Axel Foley's blackness? As you write your response, you
might also pay attention to what other people in the class have written
and respond to them.

2. For your second blog I want you to look at LETHAL WEAPON from
King's position. I know that he writes about the film in his book and
you can either take him on in terms of his assessment or you can go in
a new direction in talking about the film (perhaps something he missed).

Both postings should be 250-300 words in length.

You can compose your post one of two ways--either in word and then copy
and paste or you can write it in the draft mode. In addition, if you
know how to do hyperlinks then do that with your text and add pictures
to help your argument.
